Where our food comes from

The meals at Brassica are crafted from local ingredients purchased from our food community - farmers, fishermen, mushroom growers, and wildcrafters from the Olympic Peninsula. We’d like to introduce you to our local purveyors by the classic three W's - Who they are, What they provide, and Where you can contact them.

Farmer's Market

Whether visiting or selling, we enjoy the community gathering of the Farmers Market. Farmers, bakers, fisherman, plant people and all of our friends who arrive to eat, dance, and commune in good food are our extended family. In 2008 the Farmers Market was a springboard for Cultivated Palette. We served gourmet burgers and egg sandwiches off of our little cooking trailer and gave cooking demos every Saturday and Wednesday. In this way we built our business to launch Brassica Restaurant. Micaela is at home at farmers markets as she began her agricultural career hosting farm stands in California for many years. When we travel, our favorite vacation activity is to visit markets in other communities and get to know an area by its foods people. We urge you to visit the Port Townsend Market and enjoy a true taste of Olympic Peninsula Cuisine.

All sorts of information about the farmers market is on The Market web site.
